Let’s go through the ULTIMATE guide to ziplining in Cancun. This is an updated version to a post that we wrote some time back.
Let’s start with the basics.
- You need to prepare for your airport visit
- What to wear in Cancun
- Cancun beach activities and what you need to bring with you
- Airports: What to Know Before You Go
Be sure to have the following in order before you arrive at the airport. You don’t want to buy anything at the airport last-minute.
Does your passport expire or is it due to expire soon
It may seem obvious but sometimes the time passes so quickly that we don’t even realize when it is due.
You can check if you are eligible for an emergency passport by clicking on this link. Some passports can be delivered the next day. It is expensive so only use it in an emergency.
2. Hot & cold (attire).
Please do not jump on the plane and think that everything will be nice and warm. Airports and planes can have unexpected temperatures. You don’t need to be sweating and freezing in the airport while you are anxious to leave.
Frequent travelers are aware of this fact:
- Prepare yourself for extreme temperatures.
- Don’t forget socks if you plan to wear sandals.
- Don’t forget a sweater if you plan to wear a tank top.
What reminds you of…
- Is your luggage in accordance with the luggage policy of your airline carrier?
At an airport, there’s always someone complaining about their baggage or carry-on at the counter or to a Special Services employee. You don’t even want to be near them. Read on to avoid this embarrassing, time-consuming and frustrating problem.
Some airlines allow you to bring one bag for free. Some airlines won’t let you bring a carry on without extra charges! Check it out and avoid unnecessary problems!
4. Pack essentials
- Bring your prescription medicine. Bring your prescription as well.
- Bring a spare set of glasses (contacts are fine too) if you wear them.
- Tell your bank that you are traveling and take cash with you. Your card may be accidentally blocked for fraud if you do not.
- Bring a copy of your passport with you wherever you go. Some places will not accept foreign driver’s licenses for official ID.
- Bring an eBook or tablet for entertainment (not all airlines offer personalized viewing experiences).
What to wear on a zipline tour?
Let’s start with the obvious.
Buy 2 swimwear in case the first is wet.
Bring plastic bags with you from home. It’s worth considering. Consider it. Where would you like to keep your wet swimming outfits and towels?
Clothing that is easy to wear, such as tank tops, shirts and shorts.
Comfortable footwear (shoes or flip-flops; tennis shoes, water-shoes);
You’re forgetting to wear warm clothing!
Cancun is it not warm and sunny? Isn’t this the main purpose? !
In the end, both questions are answered. It doesn’t matter what you think.
You’re above the A/C! Many places, including transport, hotels, airport terminals, restaurants and other establishments, can be extremely cold.
TIP: Be intelligent. Pack a cover or sweater!
What you need to know:
- Two beach towels (in case one is still wet).
- Make sure you use biodegradable sunblock! A few activities require it)
- Aloe vera is great for sunburns!
- Waterproof Case for Camera or Phone
- Water-shoes are a great addition to cenotes, and other activities.
- You can save money on renting gear by purchasing your own.
- Beach bag to keep all your belongings in one place.
